I am smarter than most people. Perhaps that is an over the top way of saying that I predicted a coming trend before its arrival, but nevertheless, I like saying it.
Last year I wrote an article about "adverpoker" (remember that buzzword). In it, I asked why the bigger sites are not trying to monetize on the millions of play money players - most of which will never play for real money.
It seemed to me that there was an
awful lot of bandwidth costs being spent on these players, so my suggestion was to sell advertising and plaster the hell out of the play money tables.
Well,
PKR.com is doing just that. The company announced today that their play money players will be forced to watch 15 and 30 second commercial spots between games. Good for them.
Soon, you will all see that
adverpoker is future of online poker.
